9.6         Ownership

As stated in the Business Orientations section, ownership is based on the concept that a person has the right to own something (or even someone). The right of private ownership protects both what people create and what they have not created, such as land. Under U.S. law, this legal principle has reportedly allowed one businessman to declare himself the sole owner of an entire galaxy. He now makes his living by selling “extraterrestrial” or extraterrestrials’ land to willing terrestrials, including former U.S. presidents.
