7.6         Two directions of outsourcing

The two “outer” Business Orientations, i.e. 1. Expert and 4. Commodity are the main recipients of the activities outsourced by other businesses. For instance, the big Product maker outsources its static, commodity-like, non-inventive manufacturing processes in countries with a cheaper labor force. The same company outsources its complex IT activities, which are not part of its core business, to the expert IT integrator.
