3.9 Static and dynamic orientations
Expert, Product and Self-Service are dynamic orientations because of their constant change and evolution.
Commodity is static because it does not change. Oil, gas, gold, silver etc. are always the same. What may change is the list of resources that are traded as commodities. For example, in 2020 water became listed as a commodity and water futures are now traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Also, when we use the expression that something has become a commodity, we mean that it has lost its dynamic appeal and is now regarded as something with static quality only.
